Calendar Event: January 8, 2010 - February 26, 2010
Interval: 1 week
Repeat: 8x

A weekly pool session is normally held from August to May at Aberdeen Grammar School (during term time, check our Club Calender for more details) on Friday evenings between 7:45pm and 10:00pm. The charge is £2.00 for members and £3.50 for ‘Taster sessions’ (up to 4 then membership expected). Club equipment is provided. A warmer medium in which to learn to roll and gain confidence in a canoe.

If you wish to try kayaking please feel free to come along to the pool session without giving us advanced warning.

Please enter the Grammer School via the main entrance on Skene Street and you may park within the school ground in the car park on the left of the entrance. Once inside the grounds go round the building to the left and you will find the pool which is located in an outer building.

Sad

Ladies & Gentlemen

I have just taken a lunchtime trip along the Pool trailer run, whilst the roads are Ok we have:

Seaton Park - the road through the park has only been treated as a footpath - i.e. a central run of grit, the road is rutted and icy. The car park by the containers is untouched and remains covered by snow and ice.
Grammar School - the rear car park by the Pool is untreated and is covered by 2-3 inches of snow and ice.

I cannot guarantee that we could transfer equipment safely to/from the Pool and as it is my turn I have regretfully taken the decision to cancel the pool session tonight. I have spoken to the school janitor who agrees on the condition of the back car parks and advised that they have not touched that area. With falling temperatures and wet gear then the situation will become very slippy and dangerous. So for safety reasons I have cancelled the pool.

NO POOL TONIGHT

Sorry

Ladies & Gents

Please check on the website before leaving for the pool this evening. Current view is that the pool will be open and run as normal Very Happy .

However following earlier expeiences today and with forecast of more heavy snowfall for this evening the pool session may be at risk if weather does deteriorate Mad .

Will update soonest if matters change.

Regards

CD

Due to ongoing issues with weather and travel across Aberdeen we have reluctantly opted to cancel this evenings pool session. Sad

Hence NO Pool session tonight.

Resume as normal next Friday assuming Global Warming kicks in and we revert to a more normal winter weather.
Confused
