With remnants of snow and ice still around and Easter fast approaching we will soon be back into Thursday sessions at Seaton Park. Time to get the kit back out dust it down, check it fits Embarassed and get back to paddling.

The next AKC River Trip is planned for this weekend with a local blast down the River Dee.

Forecast this week remains fairly warm with some showers around Thursday, the thaw kicked in last Friday with the Dee stepping up a foot and hopefully that will continue through the week to provide a reasonable level to play with (albeit snowmelt!).

Plan:
Section - Potarch (Tractor Layby) - Banchory, Grade 3
With prevailing water temperatures we will still classify as a Level B trip - so best if you have been out on a River before capsize in snowmelt (even in low water) is still a traumatic experience the first time Shocked .

Meet - Seaton Park 10:00
Meet - Tractor Layby by Potarch 11:00

Change and shuttle should have us on the water by 12, about 3 hours to cruise to Banchory so back home about 5pm.

Please let me know if you plan to come along on the trip and if you need Club kit or lifts.

Contact : oh7766 oh13722 or craig.douglas@at@acergy-group.com

To Date:
Craig Douglas; Stewart Anderson; Sean Song; Bill Telfer; Murray Gauld; Rory Inglis; Cameron? - any more

I'd also like to register my appreciation, if all AKC trips are this well organised I look forward to more. I'd also like to thank all those who kept fishing me out and recovering my boat, paddle etc hope I wasn't too much of a burden. While I probably looked terrified for much of the trip I did enjoy it and gained a lot water confidence as a result of my impromtu swims.
I'm of on holiday this week and will be visiting Siam River Kayak School in their Jungle base on the Mea Teaung river outside Chiang Mia Thailand. I expect I'll be trained by a wisened old oriental master who will teach me how to be at one with the river spirits and hopefully some of those "Water Margin" tricks so the next time I eject I can walk to terra firma.

I'll return a Kayak Ninja in April. Very Happy
